Game: Museum Watch
Museum Watch is a short arcade game about protecting valuables at a museum. It was made in the span of 24 hours as a personal challenge.
The game is built around one central mechanic; the alternating bridges. There are two paths that thieves can take to reach the treasure, represented by bridges. At any given time, one bridge must always be fully expanded, and the other fully contracted. The player must switch which path is open and which is closed to prevent thieves from reaching the treasure.
All additional mechanics build upon these alternating bridges. Ghosts will float in from the top of the screen to provide a distraction. Since the bridge toggle is an onscreen button and ghosts are also dispelled with the mouse, the player must balance their attention between these tasks. Upon reaching a certain score, the room will go dark, and the player must use their mouse as a flashlight to spot enemies before they get too close.
